SRIMATI SARASWATI  PRASAD PRANAM

The following mantra is to be chanted (sung), twice before going to school to

obtain the blessings of the Goddess Saraswati, who is glorified in this verse as

being the Goddess of learning, who fulfills all desires for successful study, and

education.

OM SARASWATI NAMAS SIDYA
VANDE KAMA RUPINI
VIDYA RAMBHAM KARSI YAMI
SIDDHI BHAUTU ME SADHA

“Obeisances unto Saraswati the goddess of learning and speech, who is the

fulfiller of all desires, who is the cause of the power to learn. I start my studies with the request to you to bestow your blessings on me.

Variation:
Saraswati namastubhyam varade kamarupini

vidyarambham karishyami siddhirbhavatu me sada.

O Mother Saraswati, my humble prostrations to Thee who art the fulfiller of all

my wishes. I start my studies with the request that Thou wilt bestow Thy blessings on me.

Yaya vina jagatsarvam shashvajjivanmritam bhavet
jnanadhidevi ya tasyai saraswatyai namo namah.

But for Thee the whole world would appear lifeless. Thou art the presiding

deity of knowledge. Salutations to Thee, O Goddess of learning.

Sanskrit Mantra

Yaa Kundendu tushaara haaradhavalaa, Yaa shubhravastraavritha|

Yaa veenavara dandamanditakara, Yaa shwetha padmaasana||

Yaa brahmaachyutha shankara prabhritibhir Devaisadaa Vanditha|

Saa Maam Paatu Saraswatee Bhagavatee Nihshesha jaadyaapahaa||

English Translation
"May Goddess Saraswati, who is fair like the jasmine-colored moon, and whose

pure white garland is like frosty dew drops; who is adorned in radiant white

attire, on whose beautiful arm rests the veena, and whose throne is a white

lotus; who is surrounded and respected by the Gods, protect me. May you fully remove my lethargy, sluggishness, and ignorance."

ONE MAY CHANT THE FOLLOWING GAYATRI 108 TIMES

OM SARASWATEYE VIDMAHE BRAHMAPUTRIYE DHIMAHI TANNO SARASWATI  PRACHODAYATE

OR

ANY OF THE FOLLOWING MANTRAS 125,000 TIMES, ONE WILL CURE

STAMMERING, HAVE SUCCESS IN ALL EXAMINATIONS, WILL HAVE

CONCENTRATION IN EDUCATION, WILL NOT FORGET ANYTHING, BUT WILL

RETAIN WHATEVER ONE READS.

krpaa paravarah sajala jalada sreni ruciro

ramaa vani ramah sphurad amala pankeruha mukhah

surendrair aradhyah sruti gana sikhaa gita carito

jagannatha swami nayana patha gami bhavatu me

" Lord Jagannath is an ocean of mercy and He is beautiful like a row of

blackish rain clouds. He is the storehouse of bliss for Laxmi and Saraswati, and

His face is like a spotless full blown lotus. He is worshipped by the best of

Demigods and Sages, and His glories are sung by the upanisads. May that Lord

Jagannath be the object of my vision."

At mid night write the words:

OM HAREENG

With keshar, on Purvaashadha Nakshatra, Asthami of Krishna Paksa in the

month of Magha. By doing so one will be blessed with intelligence and be

proficient in one's studies
