105. Ananda Parshwanath

Mulnayak: Nearly 28cms. high white coloured idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath in the padmasana posture. There is an umbrella of 7 hoods over the head of the idol.

Tirth:  It is in the centre of the Umbri village.

Historicity: This is an ancient temple. A feeling of joy is felt when we see this idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath, hence the name Ananda Parshvanath. This temple was built in V.S. 1904 and the idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath was installed. The temple was renovated in V.S. 2014 and the Prathishta of the temple was done by the revered  hands of Acharya Shri Jambusurishvarji.

Other Temples: There is no other Temple.

Works of Art and Sculpture:  This lustrous idol of Parshvanath is beautiful, peaceful and miraculous. The divine face of the Lord appears to be calm and serene. The temple is artistic with dancing figures on the pillars of the temple. There is peace and serenity in the atmosphere of the temple.

Guidelines: The nearest railway station is Diyodar at a distance of 23 kms. from Umbri.This temple is situated in the Umbri village of Banaskantha district on the way to Radhanpur from Patan.There is an Upashraya here.

Scripture:   A mention of this temple is made in “365 Shri Parshvajin Naammala”, in ” Shri Sankheswar Parshvanath Chand”, in “Shri Parshvanath Naammala”, in “Shri Parshvanath Chaityaparipati”, etc. There is an idol of Ananda Parshvanath in Shri Kalikund Parshvanath temple in Santacruz, Mumbai.
