Virchand Gandhi, who attended the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893, as a representative of Jainism, captivated the audience of over 3,000 delegates. He got tax exemption on pilgrims visiting Palitana by his legal skills. By his efforts, the pig slaughter house near Shikarji, was closed. 1896-97, but he is forgotten. His work is still preserved in the archives of world religions.
