PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :
Shri Mahavir Bhagwan in black color, seated in a lotus posture, of height 2.44 meters in a shrine in Dahigaon (Dig)
ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :
This shrine, after its resurrection, was ceremonially consecrated at the hands of Panditji Gunachandraji in Vikram year 1910. Here there are Foot-Prints of the most revered Mahati Sagarji, ceremonial enshrining of which had taken place on Kartik Krishna 2 in Vikram year 1889. It is said that this shrine is known to be working miracles and only by meditations devotees become free from their physical and mental afflictions
There is no other temple nearby.
Ancient pictures drawn on the walls of the temple are very impressive and beautiful. There are several oil paintings of Digamber Jain Acharyas which are worth seeing.
APPROACH – ROUTE :
The nearby railway station is Pandharpur which is 64 Kms away. Lonand is 70 Kms away. By road Satara is 129 Kms, Baramati is 28 Kms and Solapur is 140 Kms . Access to this shrine is via Natapota which is around 5 Kms from the shrine.
AMENITIES FOR JAIN PILGRIMS :
There is a dharamshala for lodging where only water and cooking utensils are available. On advance intimation meals can be made ready here.
