SHRI BIMBDOUD TIRTH
PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :
Shri Adishvar Bhagwan in black color, seated in a lotus posture, of height 76 Cms in a shrine in a large enclosed compound near Bimbdoud village. (The shrine is also known as “Sri Kesariaji” of the state of Madhya Pradesh). (Shve).
ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :
The mere sight of the idol convinces one about its great antiquity. A reference is found that it may have been ceremonially installed before Vikram 13th century.
Such a quiet looking. Dignified, impressive idol of the 1st Tirthankar Sri Rishabdev,. Made of sand is to be rarely sighted anywhere else. A festival fair is being held here every year between Paush Krishna Dasami and Amavasya, when thousands of devotees gather and participate in offering prayers and worship.
APPROACH – ROUTE :
The nearby railway station of Ratlam Junction is 8 Kms and the town of Ratlam is 4 Kms on Mumbai-Delhi and Khandwa-Ajmer highway, where buses and taxis are available. There is a tar road right upto the temple.
AMENITIES FOR JAIN PILGRIMS :
There is a large dharamshala here for lodging with all facilities and a bhojanshala for meals are available.
