SHRI SIYANA TIRTH
PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :
Sri Sambhavnath Bhagwan seated in a lotus posture in white color in a shrine located at the lap of a mountain in the city of Siyana (Shve).
ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :
Siyana City that is located in the northern direction of “Kachhlo” mountain range, which is in the western direction of River Krishnvavati, was well known as Sanara.
It is said that in the ancient times Parmar Solanki Chouhan ruled here, but it is difficult and almost uncertain to know who got this temple built and when.
According to the reference, the construction of this beautiful temple was done by Gurjar king Maharaja Kumarpal in Vikram year 1214 and sanctified at the hands of Acharya Bhagwant Sri Hemchandracharya. Approx, during the same time of Mount Swarnagiri in Jalore which is in close proximity to this place a temple was constructed and sanctified at the hands of Acharya Bhagwant Sri Vadidevsurishvarji in Vikram year 1221.
From the above facts it is evident that this city was founded in a earlier period itself and this place would have been inhabitated by a lot of illustrious Jain families. Acharya Bhagwants had visited this place only because there were Jain families here. This city also had the good fortune of having temples built here by king Kuamrpal and then getting it consecrated at the hands of erudite scholar Acharyas.
King Kumarpal had constructed many temples on the instance of Acharya Bhagwant Sri Hemcahndracharya and then got them sanctified from which a lot of temples exists even today.
There is a reference found from “A composition titled” “ Sri Kumarpal Charitra” composed by Sri Jinsinsurishvarji, that Sri Kumarpal had constructed temples at Gurjar, Lat Saurashtra Bhaberi, Kutch, Sindiv, Uchh, Jalangar, Kashi, Sarpadalaksh, Antarvadi, Meru Medpaat, Malav Aamir, Maharashra, Karnataka, Konkar etc.,
There would have been a lot of temples constructed by the Shravaks over here too but this temple is the most ancient one among the temples existing over here at present. There is a reference found that this temple was renovated a hundred years back and then sanctified on Magh Sukla 13, Thursday of in Vikram year 1958, at the hands of Acharya Bhagwant Gurudev Srimad Vijai Rajendrasurishvarji . It is believed that even after the temple was renovated, the idol over there at present is still the ancient one.
The Prime importance of the place is that this beautiful and ancient temple constructed by king Kumarpal was ceremonially consecrated at the hands of Kalikal Sarvagya Acharya Bhagwant Sri Hemachandracharya. The work of world wide known literature, “Rajendra Abhidhan Kosh” written by P.P. Acharya Bhagwant Srimad Vijai Rajendra Surishvarji was started at this place in Vikram year 1946.
The ancient idol of Prabhu is deftly carved, very beautiful and impressive. The natural scenery is very appealing as the temple is situated in the mountain range. Besides this, there is a temple of Sri Adinath Bhagwan.
