SHRI SIVERA TIRTH
PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :
Sri Shanthinath Bhagwan seated in a lotus posture, in a shrine called Sivera (shve).
ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :
Rock inscriptions reveal the names of this shrine as siperak in the past. There is one inscription on the seat of the idol which states that the idol was ceremonially installed at the hands of Acharya Sri Shantyacharyaji on the auspicious day of Vaishakh Sukla 8 in Vikram year 1109. Possibly therefore this shrine could be of the period before 12th Vikram century. From time to time therefore renovations must have been carried out on the temple.
Every year on Karthik Poornima,a celebration is held here.
There is no other temple in the immediate vicinity. The architectural style of the temple is unique and attractive. The idol is a specific example of the ancient art employed. Besides the idol, there are some other ancient idols also in this temple.
