Brief History

Believed that the Teerth is more than 100 years old. Many stories about the healing Powers of the Idol are famous. One of them is that during the times of 20th Teerthankar, Munisuvrat Swami, the King Ajaypal suffered from an incurable disease which was cured by the magical powers of the ‘Navan Jal’ ( Holy water got from bathing the Idol).

Jain Teerth :

This is the main teerth of Ajahara panchteerthi. Raghuvanshi king Ajaypal constructed the temple during the period of 20th Teerthankar of current Chouveesi. He was inspired by the miracle took place with him, as he was cured by the water poured on the idol of Shri Ajahara Parshwanath which was founded in a jalkund, and he constructed a temple here. Huge celebration is organised on every Kartik poornima, Chaitri poornima and 10th day of Poush Krishna.

Speciality of Jain Teerth :

This is the main teerth of Ajahara panchteerthi. As per a myth famous about this teerth it is said that once a businessman, Ratnasar, was traveling with many of his colleagues on a business tour by the ship. They were held in a storm and could only escape after taking out the idol underneath the ship, being informed by Akashvani, which indicated that the water used for the bath of this idol will cure King Shri Ajaypal, having effected by 107 types of diseases. Ship automatically landed at seashore near Deev, where King Ajaypal was also halted. He was affected by many diseases but bravely defeated many enemy kings in war. Ratnasar went to him and told all the happenings. King brought that idol with a huge ceremony and followed the wordings of Ratnasar. Amazingly he got cured within 9 days. King Ajaypal then established this city and also established the idol in a temple. 14-renovatory work has taken place after the establishment of idol by King Ajaypal. Many magical incidence has also took place here. Every year huge celebration is organised on Chaitra Purnima and Poush Krishna 10.

Historical Details :

The moolnayak idol present in this temple is very ancient. It is said that Great Raghuvanshi King Ajaypal has established this magical idol in the temple at this city after he got cured using the holy bath water of this idol. The Kausaggiya idols were found from this area by archeologists. According to the carvings on them Shri Mahendra Surishwarji, the Pattalankar of Shri Udayprabhusuriji have established them on Jyeshtha Shukla 8 of Samvat 1323.
