Brief History

About 80 years back, ancient idols of Shree Mahavirswami Bhagwan, Shree Parshvanathji and Shree Neminathji were discovered by a farmer here. Inspired by Acharya Shree Buddhaisagarsurishvarji, the Pethapur Sangha established the idols here. Many years later, the development of the Borij Teerth was mentioned by Acharya Shree Padmasagarsurishvarji at a consecration ceremony at Kathmandu in Nepal in 1996. In 1997, Shree Mukeshbhai, the son of Shree Navinchandra Jagabhai Shah recalled the same and vowed to undertake this task. Thus was built the magnificent Vishwamaitridham Teerth, funded solely by the Seth Shree Navinchandra Jagabhai Shah family. The foundation for the same was laid in Vikram Year 2053 and the consecration was done on the 6th day (Shukla Paksha) of the Maha month in Vikram Year 2059.
