This shrine is one of the Jaisalmer Panch Tirthi and 1 ½ kms away from here are found Dada Shri Jinkushalsurishvarji ‘s holy shrine spot as well as a small pond (Kund). According to a legend, a certain Sheth of high caste and of Loonia gotra in the village of Dera-oor, was being harassed cruelly by his opponents of the Yavan community. Gurudev asked him to migrate to Rajasthan but advised him not to look back while going forward. Loonia families there upon commenced their march after loading camels with all their household goods. When they reached this spot, it was morning and Sheth looked back. Immediately Gurudev who was invisibly accompanying Shethji stopped and became visible and blessing him directed not to be afraid and to proceed onwards to Brahmasar which was very near. The stone on which Gurudev had appeared was later carved with his Foot-prints that exist even today. Dadawadi was also later built at this place. Dadawadi also was later built enclosing there Foot-Prints. There is a pond (Kund) which remains always clean and clear, ever flowing even during famines. This place is miraculous and therefore indeed worth seeing.
Nearby, there is a shrine of Vaishnavas which is named “Vaishakhi” and is of Buddha period. It is believed that during famine, the women of Jaisalmer used to draw water from a well which exists between “Vaishakhi” and “Brahmasar.”
