PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :

Sri Mahavir Bhagwan’s ancient foot-prints of sandal wood color and of length about 37 Cms. The shrine is situated on the bank of a pond outside the village of Khinvsar (Shve).

ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :

The place was known as Asthigram previously. This is believed to be a very ancient shrines is referred as it is, even in”Kalpasutra”. Once upon a time, this might have been a very large city. It is said that Bhagwan Mahavir was a wandering monk, he had spent one “Chaturmas” here. There is no inscription found on the Foot-Prints which are believed to be almost 2000 years old.

This place has a great importance because Sri Bhagwan Mahavir spent one “Chaturmas” here, hence giving scope for further research. During this tenure, thousands of men, women of great merit and birds and animals, must have felt their life fulfilled as a result of drinking nector of live religious discourses from Sri Bhagwan Mahavir. Every particle of dust must have also become sacred by his benign presence on this land. Even today, one experiences indescribable peace in this place, where there are no other temples.

APPROACH – ROUTE :

The nearest railway station is Nagore which is 44 Kms away where buses and taxis are available. The bus stand is almost 800 meters away from the temple but private buses and cars can ply right upto the temple doors. This shrine is around 95 Ks away from Jodhpur and 60 Kms from Osiyan by road.

AMENITIES FOR JAIN PILGRIMS :

There is no facility for lodging here It is convenient to come here only after settling down at Nagore. In the village there is one Upashraya.
