SHRI LAJ TIRTH
PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :
Sri Adishvar Bhagwan in white color, seated in a lotus posture, of height 55 Cms (ancient Presiding Deity) in a shrine within a large walled – compound in the village Laj (Shve).
ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :
On one of the pillars in this temple there is an inscription dated Magh Sukla 6 in Vikram year 1244 bearing testimony to the fact that the temple belongs to a period before 1244. The last renovations were carried out in Vikram year 1977 when ceremonial consecration of the temple took place at that hands of Sripujiyaji Mahendrasurishvarji of Dhanari, Present Presiding Deity is Sri Parshvanath Bhagwan. Every Year on Posh Krishna 10, a fair is held here. The idol here is sober yet unique.
APPROACH – ROUTE :
The nearby railway station is Sirohi Road which is 11 Kms away where autos and taxis are available. Kojara is 3 Kms away. Buses and cars can go upto the temple.
AMENITIES FOR JAIN PILGRIMS :
Adjacent to temple, there is a dharamshala but at present there are not much facilities. It is advised to stay at Bamanvadji or Nandhiya and visit here.
