PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :

Sri Mallinath Bhagwan seated in semi-lotus posture in black color in a shrine on the village of Hariranadi of Mannargudi, situated near river Pamani (Dig).

ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :

During earlier period, this was known as Rajmannargudi. This temple is believed to have been built in 12th century A.D. during the reign of Chola kings. It is considered as one among the ancient famous shrines of Tamil Nadu. The idols of Goddess Sri Saraswati, Sri Padmavati, Sri Dharmadevi, Sri Jwalamalini etc., in this temple are very strikingly impressive. Every year on Vaishakh Sukla Dasami, a Brahma festival is organized here when numerous devotees gather and actively participate in prayers and worship. The Lords idol here is very attractive.

Besides this there is no other temple nearby.

APPROACH – ROUTE :

The nearby railway station are (1) Nidamangalam 12 Kms (2) Tanjore 34 Kms and Kumbhakonam 34 Kms away, where taxis and buses to come here are available. The bus stand of Mannargudi is 2 Kms away. In the town itself, taxis, autos etc., are available. Cars and buses can go upto the temple.

AMENITIES FOR JAIN PILGRIMS :

There are no arrangements for lodging available at the present. But one can stay in the court yards of the temple where electricity, water, vessels etc., are provided.
