PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :

Sri Adishvar Bhagwan in white color, seated in a lotus posture, of height 80 Cms in a shrine situated on the banks of river Bataria in the middle of village Oar, (Shve).

ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :

According to reference in rock inscription, this place in ancient times was known as “Oad”. In the temple and on the Parikar of the idol of Sri Ambikadevi, an inscription is found dated Ashadh Sukla 9 in Vikram year 1141 which refers to Sri Mahavir Bhagwan. In the hall of the inner Sanctum, on some idols in the standing posture there are inscriptions dated Vikram year 1242 wherein Sri Mahavir Bhagwan is stated to be Presiding Deity. In “Chaitya Paripati” composted in 15th Vikram century by Saint Sri Sadhuchandra, reference is also made to Sri Mahavir Bhagwan. The present idol is Sri Adishvar Bhagwan may have been ceremonially installed at a later period after some renovations. The idol is an ancient one. However no inscription is found thereon.

Every year on Falgun Krishna 1, a flag is hoisted here on the mast of the temple sikhar. There is no other temple in the vicinity here.

APPROACH – ROUTE :

The nearby railway station and also bus-stand of Abu Road are 6 Kms away where taxis and autos are available. Buses and cars can go upto the temple.

AMENITIES FOR JAIN PILGRIMS :

There is a dharamshala but no other facility is available. It is advisable and recommended that one should stay first in dharamshala at Abu road where all facilities including bhojanshala are available and then pay visit here.
