SHRI PARASALI TIRTH
PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :
Sri Adishvar Bhagwan seated in a lotus posture, of white 76.2 Cms in a shrine in the small village of Parasali . (Shve).
ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :
According to the inscriptions on the idol, the ceremonial installation there of was done at the hands of the great Acharya Sri Uday Sagarji at the instance of Shah Gulraj Hansraj Bohra on Magh Sukla 10, in Vikram year 688.
There are many legends about the miracles taking place here. Even today, it is said, different kings of miracles often do take place such as,
1) by the application of abhishek water of the idol eyes of Pandit Rameshvarji got back their sight.
2) During religious fellowship dinners, articles when exhausted got replenished by divine power.
3) During the most acute famine in Vikram year 1956 the priest of the temple received an eight anna silver coin every day. etc.,
The annual festival is held here on Falgun Sukla 13 when thousands of devotees gather for worship and offer prayers.
The ancient idol of Sri Adishvar Bhagwan is very impressive and beautiful Besides the temple, there is another temple of Sri Shanthinath Bhagwan and one Dadawadi in which pretty idols of Acharya Sri Ratnaprabhsurishvarji and dada Sri Jinkushalsurishvarji are installed.
APPROACH – ROUTE :
The nearby railway station of Shyamgadh is 12Kms away. Shyamgadh is located on Kota-Ratlam road. Opposite the railway station of Shyamgadh, there is a dharamshala for temporary rest. There is a tar road away upto the temple. The shrine of Nageshwar is 52 Kms away and that of Mandsaur is 87 Kms away from here.
AMENITIES FOR JAIN PILGRIMS :
There is one dharamshala for lodging at Parasali with all facilities and a bhojanshala for meals. Upashraya is also present.
