Importance

Situated in the Delwada village near Udaipur in Rajasthan, this temple houses a 105 cm tall idol of Shree Aadeshwar Bhagwan.

Brief History

Also known as ‘Devkulpatak’, this region once had as many as 300 ‘Jinalayas’ during Maharaja Kumbarji’s period, out of which only 4 stand today.The main temple has an idol of Shree Aadeshwar Bhagwan. An inscription on the base of the idol reads that it was consecrated in Samvant 1491 by Acharya Somsundarsuriji Ma.Sa.; who had also penned the ‘Santikaran Stotra’ here.Near the idol of the ‘Moolnayak,’ is an idol of Shree Parshvanath Bhagwan standing in ‘Kausagga’ (meditation posture). Apart from the main temple, there are 52 ‘Deris’ (smaller temples). These under construction ‘deris’ house many rare & ancient idols. Many idols found here belong to King Samprati’s period. The basement of the Parshvanath temple houses quite a few ancient, splendid & huge idols. Many idols from here have been installed in Mumbai.
