SHRI INGALPATH TIRTH

PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :

Shri Neminath Bhagwan, Kasoti of Paashan, seated in a lotus posture of height 100 Cms in a shrine located in the outskirts of Ringnod village. (Shve).

ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :

The Ringnod village was earlier well known as Ingalpurpattan. It was very prosperous with lot of Jain temples during Vikram 12th century. There is a reference that in a place known as Navavsahi, there are nine sikharband temples.

The temple got destroyed in the course of time and even today the remains are found to be scattered around 9 Kms in the river which proves the antiquity of the place. Today, this is the only “Sikharband” Temple where the present idols were found while digging in Vikram year 1992. Of these an idol of Sri Neminath Bhagwan was also found with no inscriptions on it. One of the idols has Vikram year 1219 inscribed on it.

In this ancient historical place, the temple was again rebuilt in a vast place by King Devas in Vikram year 1982. The ancient idols present now were resanctified.

There is an ancient Upashraya here which is nearly 800 years old. In the Upashraya, there is an underground cell which is very rarely found.

The devotees get the darshan of the idol in various forms and wishes of devoted worshippers are fulfilled. The Dhvaja ceremony takes place in Migsar Krishna 10 every year. There is another temple of Sri Parshvanath Bhagwan apart from this. There is a lot of greenery around the temple which adds to its beauty.

APPROACH – ROUTE :

The nearby railway station is Jaora which is 12Kms away with the facility of bus and auto. The cities nearby are Ratlam 45 Kms, Indore 160 Kms and Ujjain 120 Kms away from here. Nearby airport is Indore.
