SHRI JAKHUA TIRTH
PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :
Shri Mahavir Bhagwan in white color, seated in a lotus posture, of height 84 Cms in a shrine in the village of Jakhua . (Shve).
ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :
This shrine is also one of the Abdasa Panch Tirthi of Kutch-Bhuj. This temple was ceremonially consecrated in Vikram year 1905. Again it was so sanctified in Vikram year 2028. This shrine is known as Ratna Tuk Jain Derasar and it was built by Sheth Jivraj Ratansi and Sheth Bhimsi Ratanshi. In this enclosed large space there are eight other temples. The sight of the nine sikhars of nine temples built close to each other in a single walled compound appears extremely wonderful and intensely pleasing.
APPROACH – ROUTE :
The nearby Railway Station of Bhuj is about 108 Kms away where buses and taxis are available. The shrine of Nalia is 15Kms and Tera is 28 Kms away. The temple is 400 meters from the local bus stand. Buses and cars can go upto the temple.
AMENITIES FOR JAIN PILGRIMS :
There is a dharamshala for lodging with all facilities and a bhojanshala for meals.
