PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :

Shri Chandraprabhu Bhagwan in white color seated in a lotus posture in a shrine in the village of Jamanpur, (Shve).

ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :

On one metal idol, there is an inscription found of Vikram year 1285 in which Sri Jamankiya Gachchha has been referred to. According to one opinion, minister Jaitrasinh son of Vastupal has founded this village after the name of his wife Jamandevi. Sri Vastupal is believed to have been born in Vikram year 1240 or 1242. It becomes certain from this that the shrine is of the period before the 13th Vikram century.

After the last renovations, the temple was once again ceremonially consecrated in Vikram year 1964. On the seat of the Parikar of the Presiding Deity, there is found an inscription dated Vaishakh Krishna 11 in Vikram year 1126. This Parikar is believed to have been brought here from Rantej. The idol in this temple is extremely pleasing.

Jamankiya gachchha was founded here. In the area surrounding the village several dilapidated structures in ruined condition and heaps of stones are found, from which one inference is possible that once upon a time this must have been a very large city. There is no other temple nearby.
