SHRI KATHGOLA TIRTH

Presiding Deity and Location :

Shri Adishvar Bhagwan in white color seated in a lotus posture and of height 90 Cms in a shrine in the middle of a beautiful garden of about 30 acres in the village called Nasipur on Burhanpur road, almost 3Kms from the railway station of Jiyaganj.

ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :

In the year 1877 A.D. Babu Laxmipathsinh inspired by hismother Mahatabkunvar got this magnificent temple built here. The icon is an ancient one, both eye pleasing and majestic. This is also one of the “Panchtirthi” of Bengal. The architecture of the temple is superb and in the two mile area of the garden, everything that has been built is beautiful. It is really a confluence of art and beauty.

In this temple situated opposite a lake, are seen many objects to corroborate the truth stated above. The vivid figures of the guardians at the gate of the innermost temple are almost stunning. The carving in stone is incomparable. When these statues themselves are so impressive, in what words the icon of the Lord can be described? There is no other temple nearby.

APPROACH – ROUTE :

Nearest railway station of Jiyaganj is 3Kms away. Richshaws and taxis are available. Buses and cars can go right up to the temple doors.

AMENITIES FOR JAIN PILGRIMS :

It is more convenient to stay at dharamshala in Jiyaganj and then to make the journey to this place.
