SHRI KOLARGAD TIRTH
PRESIDING DEITY AND LOCATION :
Sri Adinath Bhagwan in white color, seated in lotus posture, of height 75 Cmslocated in a shrine amidst hills 10 Kms away from Sirohi (Shve).
ANTIQUITY AND SALIENT FEATURES :
It is difficult to obtain actual history of the antiquity of this shrine but from the looks of the idol and observations of the surrounding area, the shrine does appear a very ancient one. The magnificent and beautiful idol is believed to have been made during the period of king Samprati. IN the temple there is an inscription of Vikram year 1721. Perhaps that was the year when repairs and renovations were carried our. It is stated that in Vikram year 1858, Shreshthi Sri Jawanmalji carried out repairs and renovations once again. Again the renovation work was commenced about 20 years back and has thus been completed a few years ago.
Natural scenery of the area as well as the iconography of the idol are the specialities of this place, let alone the antiquity. One cannot escape the feeling automatically generated here that this must have been once a very prosperous and popular shrine. Here one is reminded of the shrines of Rata Mahavir, Mirpur, Diyana,Muchhala Mahaviretc., The shrine appears to be an ideal one for concentrated study. An opportunity to visit this shrine should never be missed. Every year on Vhaitra Poornima and Karthik Poornima as well and on the birth anniversary of the Lord viz the Chaitra Krishna 8 a large celebration is held when many devotees participate from various places and get themselves immersed in the divine atmosphere created by ceremonial worship and prayers. Every year on Ashadh Krishna 13, a Dhavaja is hoisted. There is no other temple in the area.
APPROACH – ROUTE :
The nearby railway station is SIrohi road which is 32 Kms away where buses and taxis are available. On Sirohi-Shivganj road, this place is 10 Kms away from Sirohi. At Sirohi, buses and taxis are available. There is a tar road upto the temple, buses and cars can go upto the temple

There is a dharamshala near the temple for lodging with all facilities including bhojanshala for meals.
