- Aashapuran Parshwanath
Post-Noon, Ta-Sirohi
Mulnayak: 43 cms. high with the hood, white-colored idol of Bhagwan Ashapuran Parshvanath in
the Padmasana posture. There is an umbrella of 7 hoods over the head of the idol. The seven
fears in a persons life vanish after worshipping this idol of 7 hooded Ashapuran Parshvanath.
Tirth: It is in the Nun village.
Historicity: This is one of the ancient tirths of the forgotten past of splendid temples in many
desolate villages of Rajasthan. This was a prosperous city in ancient times. It is believed that this
temple was built about the year 1100 of the Vikra era by the Jain Sangh. It was renovated many
times during the period of prosperity of this city. The other villages around here are now deserted.
There is no population of Jains here. If worshipped with great faith, all the wishes of the pilgrims
are fulfilled here even today. Hence this idol in the Nun temple is called ‘Asapuran Parshvanath’. A
fair is held here every year on the 10th day of the dark half of the month of Paush.
Other Temples: There is no other temple.
Works of art and Sculpture: This temple is very ancient. It is the only momento of the forgotten
past. If arrangements are made for pilgrimages to these unknown and impressive tirths and if fairs
are held there, they can be brought to light and made famous.
Guidelines: The nearest railway station of Sirohi Road is at a distance of 56kms. from the temple.
Bus services and private vehicles are available. There are no boarding and lodging provisions.
Since there is no population of Jains, Shri Kalindra Jain Sangha manages this tirth. This Tirth
should definitely be visited.
Scripture: A mention of Ashapuran Parshvanath is made in "365 Shri Parshvajin Naammala". A
metal idol of Ashapuran Parshvanath is installed as Mulnayak in the first floor of the beautiful
temple of Sabarmati – Ramnagar in Gujarat.
Trust: Shri Ashapuran Parshvanath Shwetambar Jain Tirth, Post:Nun, Via – Kalindri, District:
Sirohi, State: Rajasthan, India.
