78.Kareda Parshwanath
Mulnayak: Nearly 90 cms. high black – coloured idol of Bhagwan Kareda Parshvanath in the Padmasana posture. There is an umbrella of 9 hoods over the head of the idol.
Tirth: It is in the center of the Bhupalsagar town.
Historicity:No evidence of the antiquity of this shrine is available. During the renovations carried out at the present time, one old pillar was found with an inscription dated year 55 whereby it is assumed that this shrine existed prior to 1st Vikram era. In Vikram Samvat 861, Shri Kheemsingh Shah built a beautiful and huge temple and the idol of Kareda Parshvanath was installed by Acharya Shri Jayanandsurishwarji. This main temple is surrounded by 52 small temples. In Vikram Samvat 1039, this temple was renovated and the idol was re-installed by Acharya Shri Yashobhadrasurisvarji. In V.S.1321 when Shri Zhanzhan Shah, son of Shri Pethadshah, went on a pilgrimage with a congregation of Jain householders to Shri Shatrunjay shrines along with Acharya Shri Dharmaghoshsuriji and many other monks, he halted at this temple.Seeing the condition of the temple, he started repairs and renovations of the temple of Shri Parshvanath Bhagwan. It is further stated that Shri Zhanzhan Shah built a seven storey temple here but today that temple is not found. On the idols on the side of the round passage, there are inscriptions of the years 1303, 1341 and 1496 of the Vikram era. The temple was renovated again in V.S.1656. To prevent the temple from being destroyed by the Muslims, the top of the temple was given the shape of a mosque. The last renovation was accomplished in the year 2033 of the Vikram era by Acharya Shri Sushilsurishvarji. The idol is believed to be a remover of calamities and miraculous working. Every year on the Posh Krishna 10, the birthday of the Lord Parshvanath, a big fair is held here when thousands of devotees participate in ceremonial worship.
Other Temples: At present there are no other temples.
Works of art and Sculpture: Many ruins can be seen here from which ancient art can be enjoyed. If research work is done in an appropriate way, it is possible to obtain many details of authentic history
Guidelines: Bhupalsagar, the nearest railway station is at distance of 1km. This place is on the Chitod – Udaipur road at a distance of 56 km. from Chitod. Bus service and private vehicles are available. Dharamshala and Bhojanshala facilities are available here.
Scripture: A mention of this temple has been made in “Tirthmala”, in “Shri Sankheswar Parshvanath Chand”, in “Shri Bhateva Parshvanath Stavan “, in ” Shri Godiji Parshvanath Stavan”, in “Shri Parshvanath Naammala”, in “Shri Parshvanath Chaityaparipati” etc. “Praband Panchshati” written by Shri Subhshil Gani in V.S. 1521 mentions the miracles that happened during the installation of the idol. An idol of Shri Kareda Parshvanath is there in the Kalikund Parshvanath temple in Santacruz, Mumbai and in Jiravala Tirth.

श्री करेड़ा पार्श्वनाथ
श्री करेड़ा पार्श्वनाथ – भोपालसागर
इस तीर्थ की प्राचीनता का सही प्रमाण उपलब्ध नहीं है| वर्तमान जिणोरद्वार के समय एक प्राचीन स्तंभ प्राप्त हुआ, जिस पर सं. ५५ का लेख उत्कीर्ण है, इससे यह प्रतीत होता है की यह तीर्थ विक्रम के पूर्व काल का होगा| वि.सं. १०३९ में भट्टारक आचार्य श्री यशोभद्रसूरीश्वर्जी द्वारा श्री पार्श्वनाथ भगवान की प्रतिमा प्रतिष्टित होने का उल्लेख मिलता है| सं. १३२६ चैत्र कृष्ण सोमवती अमावस्य के दिन महारावल श्री चाचिगदेव द्वारा यहाँ श्री पार्श्वनाथ भगवान के मंदिर की सेवा-पूजा निर्मित कुछ धनराशि अर्पण करने का उल्लेख है| भमति में कुछ मूर्तियों पर वि.सं. १३०३, १३४१ व १४९६ के लेख उत्कीर्ण है| सभा मण्डप के उपरी भाग में एक मस्जिद की आकृति बनी हुई थी| कहा जाता है की जब अकबर बादशाह यहाँ आया, तब यह आकृति बनवायी थी ताकि मुसलमान आक्रमणकारी ऐसे सुन्दर चमत्कारिक मंदिर का नाश न करे|
गुर्वावली में उल्लेखनुसार मांडवगढ़ के महामंत्री श्री पेथडशाह ने भी श्री पार्श्वनाथ भगवान के मंदिर का यहाँ निर्माण करवाया था|
मांडवगढ़ से महामंत्री श्री पेथडशाह के पुत्र श्री झाझन्न शाह वि.सं. १३४० में जब श्री शत्रुंजयगिरी यात्रा संघ लेकर यहाँ आये, तब श्री पार्श्वप्रभु के मंदिर का जिणोरद्वार प्रारंभ करके सात मंजिल का मंदिर बनवाने का उल्लेख है| लेकिन आज उस भव्य मंदिर का पता नहीं| वर्तमान मंदिर सं. १०३९ का निर्मित माना जाता है| प्रभु प्रतिमा पर वि.सं. १६५६ का लेख उत्कीर्ण है| हो सकता है जिणोरद्वार के समय यह प्रतिमा प्रतिष्टित करवाई गयी होगी|
इस मंदिर का हाल ही में पुन: जिणोरद्वार होकर वि.सं. २०३३ माघ शुक्ल १३ के शुभ दिन आचार्य श्री सुशीलसूरीश्वर्जी के सुहास्ते इस प्राचीन प्रभु-प्रतिमा की पुन: प्रतिष्ठा संपन्न हुई| बावन जिनालय से युक्त यह मंदिर अत्यंत ही मनोहर है|
यह मंदिर विद्धान भट्टारक आचार्य श्री यशोभद्रसूरीश्वर्जी द्वारा प्रतिष्टित माना जाता है| अकबर बादशाह के यहाँ दर्शनार्थ आने का उल्लेख है| मांडवगढ़ के महामंत्री श्री पेथडीशाह के पुत्र मंत्री झानझन शाह, आचर्य श्री धर्मघोषसूरीश्वर्जी आदि अनेक आचार्यगणों के साथ जब जैन इतिहास में उल्लेखनिय शत्रुंजय यात्रासंघ लेकर यहाँ उपसर्ग हरणार श्री पार्श्वप्रभु की प्रतिमा के दर्शनार्थ आये, तब संघपति का तिलक यही हुआ था| वर्तमान प्रतिमा भी अति ही चमत्कारी व उपसर्ग-हरनारी है| प्रति वर्ष प्रभु के जन्म कल्याणक पौष कृष्णा १० के दिन मेला लगता है, जब हजारों नर-नारी प्रभु भक्ति में भाग लेते है|
* एक साथ पांच प्रतिष्ठाएँ :
संड़ेरक गच्छ के महँ आचार्य श्री यशोभद्रसूरीश्वर्जी म. अत्यंत ही प्रभावशाली महँ पुरुष थे| उनके जीवन में अनेक चमत्कारी घटनाएँ बनी है|
श्री करेड़ा तीर्थ की प्रतिष्ठा के प्रसंग पर बनी एक चमत्कारी घटना का जिक्र “प्रबंध पंचशती” ग्रन्थ में उपलब्ध है|
पू. आचार्य भगवंत आघाटपुर में बिराजमान थे, उस समय करहेटपुर, कविलाणपुर , संयभरिपुर, मंडोरपुर तथा भेससनपुर में भव्य जिन प्रसाद तैयार हो चुके थे| उन पांचो नगरों के संघ अपने-अपने जिनालयो की प्रतिष्ठा के मुहरत लेने के लिए आचार्य भगवंत के पास आए| आचार्य भगवंत ने पांचो मंदिरों की प्रतिष्ठा हेतु एक ही मुहरत प्रदान किया|
सभी के आश्चर्य के बीच चार वक्रीय रूप धारण कर पूज्य सूरिदेव ने पांचो जिनमंदिरो की एक ही मुहरत में प्रतिष्ठा संपन्न हुई|
