Mulnayak: Nearly 83 cms. high black – coloured idol of Bhagwan Bareja Parshvanath in the Padmasana posture. This idol is made of sand.
Tirth: It is in the village of Barej in Porbandar district of Gujarat.
Historicity: Barej is an ancient village of Saurashtra. When a businessman was going by sea with his convoy of ships, his ship stopped moving and became still. He was surprised by this incident and wanted to know the reason for this sudden stillness of the ship. In his search, he found a beautiful and captivating idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath. He started dancing with joy and brought this idol to Barej village. He built a beautiful and delightful temple there and installed this idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath in it as the Mulnayak Bhagwan. This idol came to be known as “Bareja Parshvanath” after the village. The present temple was built by Seth Bhimji Kalyanji of Porbandar in V.S. 1900. This idol was installed by the revered hands of Acharya Shri Jineshvarsurishvarji in V.S.1905 on the 3rd day of the dark half of the month of Magh. This is an ancient Tirth and the idol is amazing, alluring and miraculous.
Guidelines: Porbandar railway station is at a distance of 42 kms. from Barej Tirth. Mangrole is at a distance of 36 kms. and Junagadh is at a distance of 46 kms. from Barej.
Scripture: A mention of Bareja Parshvanath is made in “Sashvath Tirthmala”, “365 Shri Parshva Jin Naammala”, “Shri Sankheswar Parshvanath Chaand”, “Shri Godi Parshvanath Stavan”, “Shri Parshvanath Naammala”, “Shri Parshvanath Sankhya Stavan” etc. There is an idol of Bareja Parshvanath in Jiravala Tirth.

श्री बलेजा पार्श्वनाथ – बलेजगाँव
सौराष्ट्र देश में पोरबंदर से ४२ कि.मी. दूर बलेज नाम के छोटे से गाँव श्री बलेजा पार्श्वनाथ का यह आया हुआ है| फने रहित ३३ इंच ऊँचे और २९ इंच चौड़े पद्मासन में बिराजमान बलेजा पार्श्वनाथ प्रभु के दर्शन-वंदन व पूजन से भक्त ह्रदय नाच उठता है| कींवदंती है की एक बार एक सार्थवाह जहाज में बैठकर समुद्र पार कर रहा था| जहाज क्रमश: आगे बढ़ रहा था| अचानक ही उसका स्तंभित हो गया| सार्थवाह सोच में पद गया| वह सार्थवह जहाज के स्थंबन के कारणों की शोध करने लगा| उसी समय समुद्र के जल में से एक तेजस्वी जिनबिम्ब उसे प्राप्त हुआ| जिनबिंब के दर्शन कर उसका मन मयूर नाच उठा|
उसने वह प्रतिमाजी बलेज गाँव में बिराजमान किए| एक मनोहर जिनमंदिर का निर्माण किया| और उसके मुलनायक के रूप में बलेजा पार्श्वनाथ प्रभु की स्थापना की गई|
वर्तमान जिनालय का निर्माण पोरबंदर निवासी भीमजी कल्यानजी ने कराया था और उसकी प्रतिष्ठा वि.सं. १९०५ महावदी ३ के दिन आ. श्री जिनेन्द्रसूरीश्वर्जी के हाथों से कराई थी|
