Tirth: It is in Nagpura village on the western banks of the Shivnath river.
Historicity: This very ancient, alluring and miraculous idol of Bhagwan Uvasaggaharam
Parshvanath has come to light only recently. King Pradeshi came into contact with Acharya Shri
Keshi Swami who was the follower of Bhagwan Parshvanath. Influenced by the preachings of
Keshi Swami, King Pradeshi got an amazing idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath made. He got this idol
installed by the revered hands of Acharya Keshi Swami in Tinduk Udhyan. It is believed that this
installation took place during the period of Charam Tirthpathi Bhagwan Mahaveer who was 37
years old at that time. This influential idol gained prominence and grandeur day by day. In due
course, this influential and popular temple became dilapidated and the presiding deities of this idol
Dharanendra and Padmavati took this idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath to devaloka. This idol was
worshipped by gods and goddesses there for a long period. The glorious history of this idol
became more glorious in later years. Shri Gajsingh was a keen follower of Jainism. Being pleased
by his devotion and Bhakti, Devi Padmavati gave this gorgeous idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath to
Shravak Gajsingh. His joy knew no bounds and he became more absorbed in his prayers. He built
beautiful and gorgeous 108 Jain temples (jinalay) and installed this idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath
as the Mulnayak. In course of time, this temple was lost but this influential and miraculous idol of
Bhagwan Parshvanath was buried under the earth. Thakur Bhuvan Singh of Ugna village was
getting a well dug. When it was dug up to the depth 44 feet, it got filled up with milk. When the well
was dug deeper in order to find out the secret of this miracle, entwined with Nagraj, (Dharnendra)
this idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath was found. Bhuvansingh, the owner of the farm, along with the
villagers, handed over this idol to the Jain leaders. The jain community decided to build a splendid
temple in Ugna village and install this idol in it. When the work of the temple was nearing
completion, one night 7 jain Shravaks had a same dream. The presiding deity of the idol indicated
that Shri Rawatmalji and other Shresthis of Durg in Madhya Pradesh had a desire to build a huge
temple in Nagpura near Durg. The deity indicated that this idol should be installed in that temple.
Shri Rawatmalji was contacted and this information was given to him. On the advice of Acharya
Shri Kailashsagarsurishvarji, the idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath was brought to Nagpura on an
auspicious day. A new idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath was installed in Ugna temple. When the
foundation stone of this temple was being laid, a stream of milk shot forth in the presence of Jain
monks and devotees. 40 other idols were gifted to this temple. A gorgeous and beautiful 3 domed
temple was built and the idols were installed. Many miracles keep happening here even today.
Mental, physical and wordly troubles of devotees are removed by adoring, worshiping and praying
to this idol. That is the reason why this impressive idol of Bhagwan is called Uvasaggaharam
Parshvanath. It is said that once a non-jain person was going to Bombay for getting cancer
treatment done. Having great faith and belief on Uvasaggaharam Parshvanath, he came to
Nagpura and worshipped Bhagwan and then went to Bombay’s Tata hospital for his treatment.
When the report came after his check – up, Surprise! No cancer. Because of his faith in Bhagwan,
he was cured of his cancer.
Other Temples: There are no other temples here.
Works of art and Sculpture: Looking beautiful with the seven hoods, this wonderful and
miraculous idol impresses the devotees and inspires them to have faith in God. The main attraction
of this temple is the 30 feet high door. An idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath is there above the door. A
replica of the Shatrunjay Tirth, Shri Uvasuggahar Stotra Mandir, Shri Siddhachakra Mandir,
Manibhadraveer Mandir, Padmavati Mandir etc. are the other temples here. Manibhadraveer here
is very influential and miraculous.
Guidelines: The nearest railway station of Durg (junction) is on the Nagpur – Howrah railway line.
Nagpura Tirth is at a distance of 14 kms. from Durg. Bus service and private vehicles are available
from Durg to Nagpura Tirth. Dharamshala and Bhojanshala facilities are available here.
Scripture: The antiquity of this idol is mentioned in the book “Chedivansh and history of culture-
Paatnagar”. The main temple of Uvasaggaharam Parshvanath is in Nagpura. There is an idol of
Uvasaggaharam Parshvanath in Kareda Tirth.There is a temple of Uvasaggaharam Parshvanath in Warangal in Andhra Pradesh. इतिहास के झरोखे सेः
वस्तुतः छत्तीसगढ़ क्षेत्र प्राचीन समय में जैन मतावलम्बियों का प्रमुख क्षेत्र था। कालान्तर में शासन कर रहे कलचुरी वंशज शिव तथा जिन उपासक थे। शिवनाथ नदी के पश्चिम तट पर नगपुरा, धमधा आदि ऐसे स्थान है जो सृजन और उत्थान के साक्षी हैं।
दुर्ग से 17-18 किलोमीटर पर नगपुरा में तालाब के किरारे एक खंडहर मंदिर है जो एतिहासिक और पुरातत्वीय अनुठी सुन्दरता और उत्कृष्टता का उदाहरण है। यहाँ मिले साक्ष्य श्री पार्श्वनाथ प्रभु के विहार की पुष्टि करते हैं।
कहा जाता है कि कलचुरी वंशज गजसिंह ने श्री अधिष्टायिका देवी द्वारा श्री पाश्र्वनाथ के गणधर श्री केशीस्वामी द्वारा तीर्थंकर महावीर स्वामी की उम्र के 37वें वर्ष में तिंबुक उद्यान में परदेशी राजा निर्मित श्री पार्श्व प्रभु की प्राण प्रतिष्ठा कराई थी यही प्रतिमा श्री उवसग्गहरं पार्श्व तीर्थ में तीर्थपति हैं। इस बात का उल्लेख भी मिलता है कि चैद पूर्वधर पूज्यपाद भद्रबाहू स्वामी ने इसी प्रतिमा का आलंबन लेकर उवसग्गहरं स्त्रोत को साध्य किया था। तब से प्रतिमा उसवग्गहरं पार्श्व नामांकित हुई। (भद्रबाहू संहिता पृ. 48 खंड।।।) दुर्ग के पत्रकार और साहित्यकार श्री रावलमल जैन ‘मणि’ द्वारा प्रारंभ में नगपुरा में प्राप्त खंडित मूर्ति एवं प्राचीन स्मारक मंदिर को लेकर जीर्णोद्धार कराने का निश्चय किया गया था। किंतु गांव के अंदर स्थान की कमी से भव्य निर्माण को क्रियान्विति करने में कठिनाई आ रही थी फिर भी उन्होंने गांव की मूर्ति आस-पास कुछ जमीन खरीदी किन्तु इसी क्रम में एक चमत्कार हुआ।
उत्तर भारत के छोटे ग्राम उगना में जो गंडक नदी के किनारे था। भुवनसिंह को कुआँ खेदते समय दूध से भरे गडढ़े से परदेशी राजा निर्मित श्री केशी गणधर प्रतिष्ठिता श्री पार्श्व प्रभु की मूर्ति जीवित सर्पो से लिपटी हुई प्राप्त हुई। ग्रामवासियों को स्वप्न में निर्देश मिला कि ‘‘पार्श्व प्रभु की यह प्रतिमा नगपुरा में जीणोद्धार करा रहे रावलमल जैन को सौप दो, वहाँ तीर्थपति के रूप में प्रतिष्ठित होगी।’’ वहीं भुवनसिंह सहित कुछ लोगों को स्वप्न संकेत के अनुसार यह मूर्ति नगपुरा ग्राम लाई जा रही थी कि मेटाडोर ग्राम सीमा के प्रारंभ में ही रूक गयी। अनेक प्रयासों के बावजूद वाहन नहीं हटाया जा सका, तब आश्चर्यचकित होकर इस स्थल का परीक्षण किया गया और इस बात से सुखद अनुभूति हुई कि वहाँ प्रभु पार्श्वनाथ की खंडित चरण पादुका खंडहर हुई देहरी में प्रतिष्ठित हैं।
तब उस जगह पर श्री मणिजी ने खंडहर हुई देहरी का ही जीर्णोद्धार कराने का निर्णय लिया और श्री पार्श्व प्रभु का विहार विच्छेद स्थल तप-जप की मांगलिकता के साथ तीर्थोद्धारिता कराया गया और इसी तपोभूमि को श्रद्धालु उवसग्गहरं पार्श्व तीर्थ के नाम से जानते हैं। धीरे धीरे भक्तों की आस्था ने इस तपोभूमि को नया स्वरूप प्रदान कर पूरे विश्व में विख्यात कर दिया। इस पवित्र तीर्थ का नाम आत्म श्रेयार्थियों के मध्य आत्मिक प्रगति के लिए भव्य अर्चना एवं प्रार्थना के साथ स्थापित है। तप-जप की अलौकिमांगलिकता यहाँ संचयित है। परम तारक देवाधिदेव श्रीपार्श्व प्रभु की असाधारण अद्वितीय मनमोहक महाप्रभाविक प्रतिमा के दर्शन और पूजन काल में इस स्थान पर सहसा समय रूक जाता है।

श्री उवसग्गहरं पार्श्वनाथ – नगपूरा
मध्य प्रदेश के दुर्ग जिले में नगपुरा में उवसग्गहरं पार्श्वनाथ का भव्य जिनालय है| प्रतिमाजी श्याम वर्णीय ४७ इंच ऊँचे है| पार्श्वनाथ की परंपरा में हुए केशी गणधर ने प्रदेशी राजा को प्रतिबोध किया था, उस राजा ने पार्श्वनाथ प्रभु की iस प्रतिमा व मंदिर का निर्माण कराया था| कालक्रम से मंदिर ध्वस्त बना, किंतु उस प्रभावक प्रतिमा को देवता देवलोक में ले गए|
कलचूरी वंशज श्री गजसिंह जैन धर्म के प्रखर अनुनायी थे| उनकी भक्ति से प्रसन्न होकर पद्मावती देवी ने वह प्रतिमा गजसिंह को भेंट दी| उन्होंने अपने जनपथ में जिनमन्दिर का निर्माण कराकर इसी प्रभु की प्रतिष्ठा की|
कालक्रम से मंदिर नष्ट हुआ, किन्तु यह प्रतिमा भूगर्भ में सुरक्षित रही|
भाग्योदय से कुछ वर्षोपूर्व उगना गाँव का ठाकुर कुंआ खुदवा रहा था|४४ फूंट खोदने के बाद वह खड्डा अचानक दूध से भर गया| सभी को आश्चार्य हुआ| इस चमत्कार की शोध करने पर जिन्दे सर्पो से लिपटी हुई जिनप्रतिमा प्राप्त हुई| प्रभु-दर्शन से सभी के आनंद का पार न रहा|
ठाकुर भुवनसिंह वह प्रतिमा देने के लिए तैयार हो गया| श्रावको ने उगना गाँव में जिन मंदिर बनाने का संकल्प किया| इसी बीच मंदिर निर्माण के मुख्य सूत्रधार को स्वप्न में दैवी संकेत हुआ की इस प्रतिमा को नगपूरा में नव निर्मित मंदिर में प्रतिष्टित किया जाय| अग्रणियो ने दैवी संकेत का स्वीकार किया| और आगे चलकर वहाँ अति विशाल व भव्य जिनमंदिर का निर्माण संपन्न हुआ|
