20.Kalyan Parshwanath
Mulnayak: Nearly 48 cms. high, Parrikar – yukt white – coloured idol of Bhagwan Kalyan Parshvanath in the Padmasana posture. There is an umbrella of 7 hoods over the head of the idol.
Tirth: It is near Kada darwaza in Visnagar.
Historicity: King Vishaldev Chauhan of Ajmer defeated King Bhimdev of Gujarat and established the city of Visalnagar in the place of his victory around V.S.1080. This city is known today as Visnagar. There was already a temple of Kalyan Parshvanath in Mehsana in the 12th century. During the Muslim invasion in 14th-15th century, this idol of Kalyan Parshvanath was immersed in a well for its safety. Later on, this idol was found in a well (Kodi kuwa) in Mehsana. This idol was brought to Visnagar and installed in a temple there. At present, this idol is in a 3 – storeyed temple as Mulnayak. In the 2nd floor, mulnayak is Sahastrafana Parshvanath and in the 3rd floor, mulnayak is Godi Parshvanath. There are idols of 24 Thirthankaras also in this temple. This temple was built by Srimant Shravak Seth Galachandji. The idols were installed on the 3rd day of the bright half of the month of Phalgun in V.S.1863. A flag is hoisted on this day every year. The next station from Visnagar is Vadnagar. In ancient times, Vadnagar was known as Anandpur. “Kalpasutra”, the most sacred and important Sutra of Jains, was read in the presence of the Jain Sangh for the first time here in Anandpur, now Vadnagar. During the reign of Bharat Maharaja, (Son of Bhagwan Adinath) the foot of the hill of the famous Shatrunjay Tirth was upto Anandpur.
Other Temples: There are 5 other temples here. The Mulnayak Bhagwan in these temples are Shri Sumatinath Bhagwan, Shri Shantinath Bhagwan, Shri Anantnath Bhagwan, Shri Adinath Bhagwan and Shri Shantinath Bhagwan.
Works of art and sculpture: This is an ancient gorgeous temple. The Parrikar is very beautifully and artistically carved. Panyas Padmavijayji and Roopvijayji Maharaj Saheb did Sadhana for many years in the temple of Kalyan Parshvanath in Limbadi Sheri in Petlad.
Guidelines: Visnagar is well connected to other cities by rail and road. Bus and private vehicles are available here. Taranga, Mahudi, Vijapur etc. are close by from here. Dharamshala and Bhojanshala facilities are available here. There is an Upashraya, a Gyan Bhandar, an Ayambilshala and a Pathshala here.
Scripture: A mention of Kalyan Parshvanath is made in “Tirthmala”, in “108 Naam Garbhit Shri Sankheswar Parshvanath ka Chaand”, in “108 Naam Garbhit Shri Parshvanath Stavan ” etc. There are many temples of Kalyan Parshvanath – in Limbadi Sheri in Petlad, in Mama ki pole in Baroda, in Shrimali Pole in Bharuch, in Vadachowta in Surat, in Parekh – Vaas in Palanpur, in Desai – Vaas in Radhanpur, in Aaglod in Vijapur taluk, in Kond village in Saurashtra, in Porbunder, in Bhavnagar, in Mulund and Chowpati in Mumbai, in Panchora village in Maharashtra. There is an idol of Kalyan Parshvanath in Jiravala Tirth, in Kareda Parshvanath temple and in many other temples. The idol of Kalyan Parshvanath in the temple in Chowpati is very miraculous and miracles keep happening even today.

श्री कल्याण पार्श्वनाथ
श्री कल्याण पार्श्वनाथ – विसनगर
वीसनागर में कदा दरवाजे के पास त्रिमंजिला शिखरबद्ध जिनालय है| मुलनायक के रूप में श्री कल्याण पार्श्वनाथ प्रभु बिराजमान है| सात फनों से मुक्त श्वेत वर्णीय १९ इंच ऊँचे व १५ इंच चौड़े ये प्रतिमाजी है|
१२वि सदी में महेसाजी चावड़ा ने मेहसाणा नगर बसाया, वहां कल्याण पार्श्वनाथ का मंदिर था| विक्रम की १४-१५ वि सदी में मुस्लिमों के आक्रमण के कारण यह मंदिर नष्ट हुआ किंतु उस प्रतिमा को कुँए में सुरक्षित उतार दी गई| उसके बाद यह प्रतिमा मेहसाना में कोडी कुँए में से प्रगट हुई| जिसे वीसनगर लाकर प्रतिष्टित की गई|
वीसनगर के इस जिनालय की प्रतिष्ठा वि.सं. १८६३ फागुन सुदी ३ के दिन हुई थी|
